Scores, citations, readiness — it's confusing. Here's what it means.
Can I see the actual AI answers behind my score?
Yes — the citation map shows which sources were cited for which queries, per engine, so you can see what the engines drew on rather than take it on faith.
What is authority score, and how is it different from Domain Authority?
Authority score rates the sources citing you, in the eyes of AI engines. Domain Authority rates your own domain, based on backlinks, per an SEO tool.
What is prompt coverage, and why is mine low when my score is decent?
Prompt coverage measures how much of your category's question space you appear in. A high score with low coverage means you're known for one thing only.
How long until my score improves after I make changes?
Weeks, not days — and it varies by fix type. Structural changes can register in one to three weeks; third-party mentions take one to three months.
Why do the four engines give me such different results?
Because they work differently: Perplexity is retrieval-heavy, ChatGPT blends training with browsing, Gemini leans on Google, Claude cites conservatively.
The score is an estimate — so how much should I trust it?
Trust the direction more than the value. It's reliable for tracking your own movement and comparing competitors on identical queries, not as an absolute.
Is my score comparable to another company's?
Only within the same query set. Two companies in different categories are measured against different questions, so comparing raw numbers is meaningless.
What counts as a good score?
Bands rather than a target number, because what's achievable depends heavily on your category. 0-25 is effectively invisible; 51-75 is reliably visible.
How is the visibility score calculated?
Four inputs, combined into a single 0-100 figure: mention rate, citation rate, prompt coverage and source authority. Citation and coverage dominate.
Can you guarantee I'll show up in ChatGPT?
No, and any tool that guarantees it is misrepresenting how these systems work. We don't control the engines, and their outputs are non-deterministic.
Do I need the add-on services, or is the subscription enough?
The subscription is enough for everything on your own site — structure, schema, content gaps, technical fixes. Add-ons address off-site coverage instead.
Is Scale worth double the Agency price?
Only if you'll use what it adds: twenty sites, Advanced Reporting, the Refresh Tracker and bulk audits. Sentiment and white-label are already on Agency.
Which plan should I pick?
One site and you want to know where you stand — Starter. Several brands or client sites — Agency. Many sites and trend tracking — Scale.
There are other AI visibility tools now. Why LazyCats?
The category is real and getting crowded, so evaluate on specifics rather than claims: four engines tracked separately, and fixes you can actually apply.
How do you compare to Ahrefs, Semrush or Search Console?
They're better than us at everything they do — keyword research, backlink data, rank tracking, crawl diagnostics at scale. Keep them.
Why not just ask ChatGPT about my brand myself?
You should — it's a useful reality check, and it's free. What it won't give you is a baseline: one non-deterministic answer, with no history to compare.
Isn't this just SEO with new branding?
It's a fair suspicion, and plenty of tools are guilty of it. But what we measure isn't in any index — there's no public dataset of what ChatGPT cited.
Do I still need SEO?
Yes. AEO is additive, not a replacement. Most of the technical foundation is shared, and AI engines lean heavily on sources that already rank in search.
How is AEO different from SEO?
SEO optimises for a ranked list of links. AEO optimises for being the source a generated answer draws on. Page one holds ten results; an answer cites four.
Do prices include VAT?
Prices are shown exclusive of VAT and applicable taxes unless checkout says otherwise. The final amount for your location is shown before you pay.
Can I use LazyCats for client work as an agency?
Yes, and Agency and Scale are built for it: five or twenty sites, project switching, white-label exports and shareable links you can send to clients.
Can I share my login with my team or my clients?
No. Logins are per organisation, and credential sharing is grounds for suspension. Serving clients is supported — that's what white-label reports are for.
What if my payment fails?
We retry and email you. After 14 days of non-payment the account goes read-only rather than being deleted, and your data is kept for 30 more days.
How do I cancel, and what happens to my data?
Cancel from account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
Is billing monthly or annual, and does it renew automatically?
Both are available, and annual saves roughly 20%. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel, and you can cancel any time from account settings.
Do you offer a free trial?
There's no time-limited trial. Instead, the free audit gives you a real audit of your real site with no credit card — your actual score, before you pay.
What happens when I downgrade?
The change takes effect at the end of your current billing period, so you keep what you paid for. Sites beyond the new limit go read-only, not deleted.
What happens when I upgrade mid-month?
Stripe pro-rates the price difference, so you only pay for the remainder at the higher rate. Your re-audit allowance is granted in full immediately.
Can I add several sites at once?
On Scale, yes — up to five URLs in a single operation. They're processed one after another, because running them in parallel would hit rate limits.
How many sites can I add on each plan?
One site on Free and Starter, five on Agency, twenty on Scale. Scale is capped at twenty, not unlimited — contact us before subscribing if you need more.
I fixed everything you recommended. Now what?
Re-audit to confirm the fixes registered, then shift from fixing to monitoring. AEO isn't a project you finish — your competitors keep publishing.
Can I export the data?
PDF and CSV on all paid plans. Agency and Scale also get shareable report links, which are easier than emailing PDFs to a client. Free has no exports.
How do white-label reports work?
On Agency and Scale, the Export Report dialog lets you replace LazyCats branding with your company name and website URL.
What is the Refresh Tracker and why is mine empty?
The Quarterly Content Refresh Tracker identifies which of your pages AI engines cite most, then tells you when each is going stale.
What is llms.txt and do I actually need one?
llms.txt is a plain text file at your site's root that tells AI crawlers which pages matter and how to read them. Adoption is early, but it costs an hour.
How does competitor tracking work?
You name the competitors; LazyCats tracks how often each is cited alongside or instead of you across the same set of queries.
What are custom queries, and how should I choose them?
Custom queries are the specific questions you want to be found for, run against all four engines to track whether you surface.
How often should I re-audit?
Weekly is the default cadence on paid plans, and it's the right rhythm for most sites. Re-audit immediately after you ship a batch of fixes.
What's in Advanced Reporting that the standard report doesn't have?
Advanced Reporting is the Scale-only panel on the AI Visibility tab: gauge score with period delta, per-source sentiment, trends and competitor comparison.
What is sentiment analysis and how accurate is it?
Sentiment analysis reads the tone of how each citing source discusses your brand and classifies it as positive, neutral or negative.
My score dropped and I didn't change anything. Why?
Almost always because the AI engines changed, not because you did. These systems are non-deterministic — watch the 30-day trend, not two consecutive runs.
Which AI engines do you check?
Four: ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude and Perplexity. Every report breaks results down per engine, because visibility rarely looks the same.
What is an AI visibility score?
A 0-100 estimate of how consistently AI assistants surface your business when asked relevant questions. It's a baseline to track, not an official metric.
What happens after the free audit?
You'll have a score and your three biggest issues. Upgrading unlocks the full issue breakdown, the prioritised action plan and platform-specific fixes.
Will you change anything on my website?
No. LazyCats AI is read-only. We analyse your site and tell you what to change; you or your developer make the changes. We never request credentials.
How is this different from Google Search Console or Ahrefs?
Those tools measure Google's index and its results pages. Neither can see what ChatGPT said about you yesterday. LazyCats measures that second layer.
Do I need to be technical to use this?
No. Every recommendation comes with a How do I do this? expansion written for someone who has never touched schema markup.
What's in the free audit, and what isn't?
Your AI visibility score, your top three issues, a preview of the sources AI engines cite in your category, and a look at how competitors compare. No card.
How long does an audit take?
Five seconds for the instant readiness check, a few minutes for the full AI audit across four engines. You don't need to wait — we'll email you.
What do I need to get started?
A website URL. That's it. No credit card, no installation, no script to add and no domain verification — paste the URL and the audit runs.
What does LazyCats AI actually do?
LazyCats AI checks whether AI assistants mention your business when people ask questions in your category, scores your visibility and tells you what to fix.
