Isn't this just SEO with new branding?

It's a fair suspicion, and plenty of tools are guilty of it. But what we measure isn't in any index — there's no public dataset of what ChatGPT cited.

It's a fair suspicion, and plenty of tools are guilty of it.

The honest distinction: what LazyCats measures cannot be measured by SEO tools, because it isn't in any index. There's no public dataset of what ChatGPT cited. Getting that data means running queries against the engines and recording the responses — which is what LazyCats does, and what Search Console and Ahrefs structurally cannot do.

The recommendations do overlap with technical SEO in places. Schema markup and crawlability were good practice before AI assistants existed. What's new is the measurement, the prioritisation, and the off-site signals that drive citation specifically.

Can you guarantee I'll show up in ChatGPT?

No, and any tool that guarantees it is misrepresenting how these systems work. We don't control the engines, and their outputs are non-deterministic.

Do I need the add-on services, or is the subscription enough?

The subscription is enough for everything on your own site — structure, schema, content gaps, technical fixes. Add-ons address off-site coverage instead.

Is Scale worth double the Agency price?

Only if you'll use what it adds: twenty sites, Advanced Reporting, the Refresh Tracker and bulk audits. Sentiment and white-label are already on Agency.

How do you compare to Ahrefs, Semrush or Search Console?

They're better than us at everything they do — keyword research, backlink data, rank tracking, crawl diagnostics at scale. Keep them.

Why not just ask ChatGPT about my brand myself?

You should — it's a useful reality check, and it's free. What it won't give you is a baseline: one non-deterministic answer, with no history to compare.

Do I still need SEO?

Yes. AEO is additive, not a replacement. Most of the technical foundation is shared, and AI engines lean heavily on sources that already rank in search.

How is AEO different from SEO?

SEO optimises for a ranked list of links. AEO optimises for being the source a generated answer draws on. Page one holds ten results; an answer cites four.
